Learning Spanish

In Learning Spanish, flowers were collected from the garden, dried and dipped in wax in an act of preservation. They were then pierced and pinned to the wall like entomological specimens creating 5 new images of objects (3 images shown) associated with language lessons. The work references many visits to Mexico: a very visual culture in which flowers are used for many celebrations and rituals.
